Nursing can be a very difficult career with long hours and difficult working conditions so it is essential, as a nurse that you know of nursing benefits and take full advantage of each of them.  While nursing can be a difficult career it has many challenges and is seen by many as an extremely rewarding path.

Many organizations that employ nurses are finally realizing that nurses should get greater rewards for the hard and challenging work that they do.  Salaries have started to increase, dependent on geographic location and which organization or company you work for and there are a greater number of nursing benefits being offered by prospective employers.

As well as the standard annual leave, sick time and funeral leave most states are offering health insurance, dental plans, pensions and life insurance packages which have been offered to many employees in many industries for some time now.  In most hospitals and organizations they are also being offered as nursing benefits so you care for yourself or your family if anything should ever go wrong.

If you find the right organization it’s quite possible that you could even find yourself with a long-term care plan, disability insurance and many others.  In most states these nursing benefits are state benefits that means they should be portable, so if you move hospital you can accrue your benefits and take them with you wherever your career takes you in that state.

Nursing is seen as being a serious profession for people who care for others, and numerous states are trying to reward this by giving you the time and ability to enjoy the spare time you get.
