professional nursing

I am a nursing student in MI and will be graduating in May, I am about to write a paper on "professional nursing". What does that mean to some of you? I really need your help on this one. I know what it means to me to be a professional nurse. To me it means loving what I do and being the best that I can be at it. It means being able to set aside all my own personal biases I may have for a particular type of patient and seeing them as a human being who needs my to help to get well. It means always being respectful, even to the physician I would rather slap then be respectful to. It means teamwork and helping out my fellow nurses, even when I am so tired that all I want to do is sit down for just a moment. So all you nurses out there.....can you help me out on this.....
